Have you ever wanted to defy gravity? You could book a seat on the space shuttle, but by the time you buy a ticket, rent your space suit and drive to the launch site, you'll have well over $10,000,000 invested. For a lot less money, (free actually) you can defy gravity in Bedford County. Located in the suburbs of New Paris, PA (South Central Pennsylvania)... Gravity Hill is a phenomenon. Cars roll uphill and water flows the wrong way. It's a place where gravity has gone haywire. There is no fee to venture onto Gravity Hill. It is, quite simply, a road in a remote corner of Bedford County.

Blue Knob State Park offers year-round wilderness adventures on 5,874 acres of woodland. The park is in the northwestern tip of Bedford County, west of I-99. Altoona, Johnstown and Bedford are within 25 miles of this scenic park. The elevation of the park can cause air temperatures to be several degrees cooler than the surrounding cities. The annual snowfall averages about 12 feet.

What to do is never a question for long in Bedford County. Start with a beautiful historic district, a pioneer village, museums, a bison farm, 14 covered bridges, driving tours, specialty shopping and antiques galore. Add special events to the mix and a memorable visit is taking shape.
