The County Links
above will keep you specifically in Bloomsburg and Columbia County, part of the Susquehanna Valley
Region of PA.
Columbia County, in the heart of Pennsylvania, is home to rural farmlands, state game lands, state forests, nature preserves and the Susquehanna River and its tributaries. Ricketts Glen, one of several nearby state parks is a Registered National Natural Landmark with more than 22 waterfalls which can be seen by following a seven mile trail through the area. Almost 20,000 acres of state game land in the area are used for hunting, boating, hiking, bird watching and nature study while there are plenty of lakes and streams for bass, trout, muskie, pickeral and many other fish.
If outdoor sports isn't your style try looking at our historical sites. Columbia County has 24 - 19th century bridges including the only twin covered bridges in the nation. Old houses are scattered throughout the county. And you can still see old towpaths from the turn of the century canals. On your travels to see these sights stop in at the dozens of shops to browse and try the food at our finest restaurants.
In the fall stop at the Bloomsburg Fair - Pennsylvania's granddaddy of fairs. Try Knoebels Amusement Resort in the summer, watch the mountains come to life in the spring. Ice fishing, ice skating and skiing are superb in the winter.
