Pocono Mountains, PA

The Pocono Mountains are a popular recreational destination for local and regional visitors. The region encompasses the Delaware State Forest, including six designated natural areas, seven state parks, and seventeen state game lands. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is on the eastern edge of the Poconos and includes 70,000 acres of wilderness.

In this endless outdoor playground, you'll find steep mountains with cloud-covered peaks great for hiking, biking, fishing and canoeing. You'll come across destinations like Lehigh Gorge State Park, with miles of trails for hikers and bikers to enjoy. There's also Jim Thorpe, the heart of the East Coast's cycling scene. In the town of Milford, right along the banks of the Delaware River you can catch guided tours along the river, and come across shops and great B&Bs. Hickory Run State Park and Boulder Field has acres of land sure to break in the toughest of hiking footwear. And Jack Frost Big Boulder Ski Area is a skier's paradise.
